From the Front Line at  E.A.S. Windows

I am sure that nobody is complaining about this beautiful warm weather we are getting and I know many of you will be hoping that it will stay.

It is nice to have the warmth from the sun and being able to get the windows open to let the breeze in. However there are some homes and offices that after having the sun beating through the windows all day are like an oven inside making it uncomfortable to be in the room.

There are many advantages of double glazing and replacement windows and many assume they are only winter season advantages; keeping in heat, preventing condensation, reducing energy bill etc. In the summer, double glazing will stop heat from entering the home, as it helps to reduce the amount of radiated heat gain and also on days when the sun pours in through your windows it brings with it ultraviolet light that can damage and fade furniture, carpets, pictures and paintings.

Double glazed windows can reduce the amount of UV light entering your rooms by over 70% leading to less fade and risk of spoiling your interior items. For those of you who have taken advantage of the best home improvement products on the market, fitted and installed by E.A.S, I am sure you will have delighted in the fact that your home has been cooler, quieter and more secure during the recent hot weather.

This year, again the market remains very competitive and we will need to continue to improve our performance in order to maintain our excellent profile in the market place. We will ensure that we continue to work towards our goals of being “FASTER-BETTER-CHEAPER” than we used to be. Our customers are demanding it. This means we will get things done efficiently and effectively and will continue to strive to get things “RIGHT 1ST TIME”. Choosing the right company for your home improvement projects has never been more important than it is now. Money is tight and anyone considering a home improvement project should ensure that they know who they are dealing with and quality of workmanship they can expect.

Recently in one of the industry’s trade magazines there was a report of the customer who called out three national window companies to quote for work on her house and was shocked and disappointed at the response. This is all too familiar. E.A.S is a reasonably large Leicestershire-based firm established since the 1980’s which has built its reputation on good quality products in Rehau profile and excellent customer service at a fair and honest price. The vast majority of our business comes through recommendation and, as a family owned business, I like to think that we take a personal pride in how well we treat both existing and potential customers.

Over the past 30 years, we’ve worked hard to dispel the stereotype of the double glazing salesman with his inflated prices, bullying sales techniques and false promises but even after all this time it still persists – precisely because of the kinds of ‘leading’ businesses that the reader was complaining about. Cutting corners to improve profits is no joke – especially for the customer who suffers from poor workmanship and sub-standard installations. Recently, E.A.S has joined the Rehau Authorised Partners scheme to differentiate ourselves further from unscrupulous operators and, with more than 220 companies now active in the scheme, there are obviously a great many other business owners who share my objectives. It is no good simply wringing our hands about the behaviour of what the reader termed ‘leading companies’, we have to work hard as both an individual company and a collective industry with initiatives such as Rehau Authorised Partners to persuade consumers that all double glazing companies are not the same.

Of course it can’t happen overnight (it hasn’t happened in the last 30 years!) but if customers continue to support the reputable local businesses out there and give them the opportunity to prove that quality and reputation do count over the ‘leading window companies’ cut-price offers, then we’re definitely moving in the right direction. Finally I would like to extend a warm thank you to our existing customers, and those of you who have selected E.A.S to quote for your home improvement projects. Our customers are our number one priority and we are always grateful to be given the chance to prove our credentials to each of them.
