EAS are pleased to announce their sponsorship of
Leicestershire CCC’s Senior Coach Tim Boon.
Tim was a right-hand top-order batsman who was a key
part of the Leicestershire side for a decade from the
mid 1980s. In 1980 he toured the Caribbean as captain of
England’s Young Cricketers. In 1984 he secured a regular
first-team place with Leicestershire, passing 1000 runs
for the first of seven occasions.
During a 15-year playing career, he made 11,821 first
class runs, including 14
centuries.
He retired after his benefit in 1995 and went into
coaching. In 2006 he returned to Grace Road
and promptly led the Club to Twenty20 Cup triumph in his
first season in charge. |
